Last weekend, I had the opportunity to hear the new voice in town.Nina Mojares, a 9 year old Filipina girl debut was fantastic. Nina Mojares wowed the crowd of Filipino and non-Filipino attendees at the annual, 2008’s Philippines Fiesta in New Jersey on the weekend of August 16 and 17 before the big acts of Marian Rivera, Dingdong Dantes, and Bea Alonzo. Nina Mojares’ favorite singers are Celine Dion and Charice Pempengco. Let’s support our fellow Filipino as she become the next Filipino singing star.

Last weekend of Augsut 16 and 17, 2008, Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes performed at the Philippine Fiesta in New Jersey. Many Filipinos in the East Coast gathered at the aryty booth to sign autographs and took photos with their fans.
Richard Gutierrezand KC Conception’s movie, “For the First Time” is competing against Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes‘ birthday celebration because both film and concert are starting on August 27, 2008. There are a lot of controveries about this because Richard Gutierrez’s manager and mother, Annabelle Ramaand KC Concepion’s mother, Sharon Cuneta spoke against GMA about the coeincidental start date of the movie and the concert.

Charice, the amazing little diva, amazed Filipino audience once again at the US-PHILIPPINES EXPO 2008 in Pomona, CA. Charice performed last weekend Saturday, August 9 and Sunday, August 10. Charice performed with Randy Santiago, who is also the celebrity performer at US-Philippines Expo 2008.
Last Sunday, August 3, Miss LT or Lorna Tolentino was interviewed by ABS-CBN the BUZZ ‘ host, Boy Abunda about Rudy Fernandez and the rumors about which networks Lorna Tolentino will choose: stay as a GMA 7 Kapuso or transfer to ABS-CBN Kapamilya television network. Lorna Tolentino is a widow of Rudy Fernandez. At the BUZZ interview with Boy Abunda, Lorna Tolentino said that she felt an emptiness inside when Rudy Fernandez passed away. Lorna Tolentino is a multi awarded actress in the Philippines showbiz, and currently Lorna Tolentino is a co-host of GMA 7’s Startalk . Lorna Tolentino plans to make her decision by mid-August. Lorna Tolentino doesn’t want to be in showbiz talk show at the moment.
Joey De Leon, one of the hosts of Eat Bulaga , resigned as a columnist in Manila Bulletin because of an article written about Eat Bulaga. Balita , the sister company of Manila Bulletin, wrote an article about the Eat Bulaga show in LA is flopped. Joey De Leon reacted to this article and resign from Manila Bulletin. Based on the article, one of the GMA 7 executives gave a tip to the reporter that the Eat Bulaga show in LA was flop. Because of this, Joey De Leon spoked at Startalk that if this rumor is truth, Joey De Leon will quit all of his shows on GMA 7.
GMA 7 television crew were invited at the ABS-CBN compound in the ELJ Building for a presscon for Star Cinema’s movie, "For the First Time ." The film stars Richard Gutierrez , the GMA 7’s primetime king and KC Concepcion , the new ABS-CBN princess. Everybody in the building were surprised that Star Cinema invited GMA 7 tv crew to the ABS-CBN compound. Nelson Canlas, a showbiz news reporter from GMA 7 mentioned that this is not the first time GMA 7 tv crew are invited for a presscon in the ABS-CBN territory. The first time was with Regine Velasquez and Piolo Pascual ‘ s movie, "Paano Kita Iibigin ." For the First Time is the first movie that Richard Gutierrez and KC Concepcion are starring in. Their second film will be under GMA Films. It will premiere in February, 2009. The working title of Richard Gutierrez and KC Concepcion’s second movie under GMA Films is "When I Met You."
Richard Gutierrez , the star of Codename: Asero and Dingdong Dantes , star of Dyesebel were part of a controvery. Richard Gutierrez and Dingdong Dantes participated in the Blackout: Bench Fashion Show. The controvery started when Richard Gutierrez’s mother and manager, Annabelle Rama reacted to the Bench Blackout Fashion show. Annabelle Rama spoke out to the Philippine media press that Richard Gutierrez and her talents were not expose fairly. Annabelle Rama suggested that the organizers of the Blackout Bench Fashion Show should add the artistas’ name before they walk out in the stage, so they can be more recognizable. Annabelle Rama plans not to let Richard Gutierrez to participate in next year’s Bench Fashion Show.
Katrina Halili, the two time winner of FHM’s Sexiest Woman in the Philippines, and the lead star in Pablo Gomez’s Magdusa Ka, is gaining a lot of blessings. Katrina Halili signed a five film contract with Octo Arts Films, and she is eyeing by Robin Padilla to be his leading lady in Robin’s upcoming television series with Manny Pacquiao,Totoy Bato. There is rumor that Katrina Halili’s next big project is Angela Markado.
